Where Are the Opportunities for Musicians in the Age of AI?
Discover your strengths. Explore your next career move.
AI can generate proposals, promotional copy, programme notes, teaching materials—even music. As knowledge, technical skills and creative resources become more accessible, what unique value can musicians offer? And where might our next opportunity lie?
This talk explores a fundamental question at the heart of a musician's career: How do you find the right opportunities—and help those opportunities find you?
Hong Kong arts and cultural producer Irene Au brings a producer’s perspective to three key questions:
Discover new opportunities | What career paths are open to musicians in the age of AI?
Recognise your strengths | Beyond performing and teaching, what unique value can you bring?
Connect with opportunities | How can your skills, experience and ideas reach the people who need them?
Interactive Session | Discover New Possibilities Through Your Bio
When registering, you are welcome to submit a short personal bio of approximately 100–200 words, along with links to your social media or website. Irene will select a few examples for live discussion, exploring how musicians’ backgrounds and expertise can point towards different career directions and opportunities.
Each participant will also receive a Career Self-Assessment Report and a Guided Journal for Music Entrepreneurs to help organise their thoughts, recognise their strengths and continue exploring beyond the session.
Who Is This For?
Music students and young musicians aged 35 or under who teach, accompany or perform. This session welcomes anyone seeking a clearer sense of direction, exploring broader career possibilities or considering their next step.
